SETTING THE SCENE: Donalds directed his full ire at mayors from Denver, Chicago, New York, and Boston, grilling them over how much taxpayer money their cities have spent handling migrant arrivals.

—To Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, Donalds asked why he reached out to Gov. Greg Abbott instead of President Biden about the influx. Johnston admitted the city had spent $79M on "newcomers."

—New York Mayor Eric Adams confirmed the city had shelled out $6.9B, drawing audible reactions.

—But it was Boston Mayor Michelle Wu who drew the biggest viral moment. When she said her city doesn’t track immigration status or spending on migrants, Donalds erupted: “Are you out of your mind?”

Donalds didn’t just ask tough questions. He represented the concerns of WE THE PEOPLE!!!!

🎥 Dem Rep loses his mind during UNHINGED screaming match on Fox News

THE EXCHANGE: What started as a relatively tame segment on Fox News quickly escalated into a live TV blowup when Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) clashed with host Will Cain over the now-infamous Signal group chat leak from the Trump transition team. The segment — ostensibly about national security — turned into a partisan food fight.

Cain’s approach: Calm, firm, and surprisingly conciliatory. He opened with agreement: yes, the Signal mishap was a mistake. Yes, it shouldn't happen again. But Cain pushed back on Democrats' framing of the incident as a “serious” national security risk, calling it “hyperbolic” and politically motivated.

Then came the volume: Himes, normally measured, exploded. Accusing Cain of turning a military issue into a partisan football, Himes invoked fallen troops, near-miss hypotheticals, and even accused Cain of making him “want to throw up.” It was the kind of moment that goes viral — and sure enough, the clip is everywhere on X.

Between the lines: For a party still reeling from 2024’s shellacking, this was a rare opportunity for Democrats to go on offense. But the optics of Himes losing his cool while Cain played the steady hand may not help the Dems claw back public trust on national security.

BOTTOM LINE: In trying to prove how serious the leak was, Himes just made Signal-gate more about Dem overreach than Republican recklessness.
